One of the last things most people want to think about is insurance. It is often forced upon us by the government and the nature of the society we live in. In some places like California big cities the cost of some types of insurance is way out of the reach of those with meager paying jobs and the poor.

There is one type of insurance that is really worthwhile if you are traveling far from home and are going to be away for more than a few days. That is travel insurance. A real good idea is don’t travel long trips without it. Anybody who has ever fallen ill while abroad on holiday will know only too well how it can ruin a long awaited holiday and, without health insurance, can literally turn it into the holiday from hell.

Lying in a hospital bed thousands of miles from home gives you plenty of time to think and the one thing you do not want to be thinking about is the fact that you did not bother to arrange travel health insurance before you set off.
